When did my baby grow up and start driving?

My eldest turned 14 and went to write his learners test. For some reason he thought he didn’t have to study and it took a few times to obtain the permit but I was a super proud of him the day he passed.

I was surprised that he wasn’t eager to learn to drive the moment he could. I remember counting down the years until I could drive, granted I lived out in the country and driving was the ticket to my freedom. Having said that, Owen knew when he felt ready and I have to commend him for that.

Since getting his learners, his dad has taken him out driving many times but I can’t bring myself to do it! Again, I was a small town girl and had the opportunity to drive with no traffic around, not in a city of a million people… I was also fortunate enough to take lessons through the Young Drivers of Canada so I didn’t learn all my parents ‘not so great’ habits.

I am in the process of researching driving schools in Edmonton and would love to hear about your experience!
