Friday Food Pick: Peanut Butter Protein Balls

There are some wonderful recipes on this great world wide web. One of my favorites is a protein loaded snack that someone shared with me a few years ago (Thanks Tawnya). As I do not generally have the ingredients necessary on hand, I frequently have to improvise. In this case, I was very happy with the result!

Today’s Friday Food Pick is: Peanut Butter Protein Ball: Chrissie’s version

1 cup natural Peanut Butter (creamy or chunky – you choose)
1 cup honey
1 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1 cup dried berry mix
1 cup sliced almonds
3 Scoops vanilla protein powder
Cinnamon to taste

In a medium saucepan, heat honey and peanut butter on stove until texture is runny
Mix in dried berry mix, almonds, oatmeal, and protein powder
Stir until all ingredients are well blended
Let mixture cool in fridge
Roll into bite sized balls
Store in freezer or fridge until needed

These wonderful bite sized snacks will not disappoint. I will prepackage individual baggies to grab and go, and to keep me from eating more than I should.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!
